In accordance with City of Batavia Ordinance 7-1-12 (C), an application (PDF) for a permit to hold a parade, procession, and/or open-air meeting on a public way or upon grounds abutting a public way within the City of Batavia is required.
Although not all events require permits, a permit must be obtained per City of Batavia Ordinance 7-1-12 (A) as provided if the event is located:
Parade permits are free of charge and the city requires that requests be made not less than seven (7) days prior to the event. If the event requires a road closure, this application must be filed not less than twenty-one (21) days prior to the event. Additional insurance, waiver, and indemnification requirements may be applicable (City of Batavia Ordinance 7-1-12 (I).
Although a permit may not be required in all cases, it is highly recommended that it is obtained in order to determine if any city services will be needed to make your event a success. Please review City of Batavia Ordinance 7-1-12 for complete information. If you have any questions, please call the Batavia Police Department at 630-454-2500.
