Main Street Reconstruction
Several years ago the City applied for and received $2.5 million in Federal Surface Transportation Funds (STP Funds) for Main Street, which is the maximum allowable Federal Funding that can be awarded.

Prairie Street and Wilson Street Intersection
The City of Batavia has been awarded Federal funding through the Kane-Kendall Council of Mayors (KKCOM) for the Prairie Street and Wilson Street Intersection Improvements Project (Stage 2). The City completed Phase I preliminary Engineering as part of the overall Prairie Street Improvements project in June 2019. Stage 1 (Pine Street to Wilson Street roadwork) construction was completed in December 2020.

Road Diet for Illinois Route 31
Batavia city staff is studying a proposal to work with the Illinois Department of Transportation to possibly implement a road diet for Rt. 31 through Batavia.

Sidewalk Removal and Replacement Program
Each year the City of Batavia performs sidewalk maintenance to repair defects within the city sidewalk system. These repairs ensure pedestrian safety as well as reduce liability for the property owner and the city of Batavia.
