You may have noticed some construction activity around our City! We are currently making modifications to our Water Treatment Plants No. 1 and No. 2. Modifications include constructing a backwash storage tank, construction of a brine building, as well as rehabilitation of filters, water wells, and water booster pumps. These modifications are being made so that we can continue to supply high-quality drinking water to the City of Batavia. Funding for this project was provided by a loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Public Water Supply Loan Program (PWSLP). The $4,425,000 loan has a 1.35% interest rate and will be repaid over 20 years. Both state and federal sources fund the PWSLP. For more information, please contact the City’s Water Utility Division.
